It was so wonderful to see everyone this morning. I appreciate how patient and respectful we were as we dealt with the busiest day of the year for our parking lot. I look forward to meeting and working with every student at La Paloma this year.

Fall is Coming

We are having such a great year! I am very proud to be part of La Paloma Academy and working with all the outstanding students at our school. Next week is our Thanksgiving feast for all of our students. Please check your students newsletters and teachers blog for what your child needs to bring that day. This is always such a great thing we can do for our students and we truly appreciate all the support we get. Thank you!

2011-2012 School Year!

Welcome back to school! I am so happy to have every student and teacher back this year. With the Positive Behaviors I have seen at this school, I believe this school will be a diamond. I know the parking lot can be stressful in the morning, so thank you everyone for being respectful in the during this time. Have a great weekend and take time to read with your kids at home.

Rodeo Break

Just a reminder, Grand Parents Day is Wednesday February 23rd and there will be no school on Thursday the 24th and Friday the 25th for Rodeo Break! Have a great weekend and don't forget to read with your children everyday!

Parent Information Night

Attention All Parents!

Tonight is our PIN night. We will information for you about what is going on at La Paloma Academy with our Title I program, Positive Behavior Intervention Supports and our Community groups. I will be cooking hot dogs for everyone who comes. Following the meeting we will have our first family movie night for 2011! Please register at the front office if you are planning on coming. Thank everyone who attended last nights open house! Last night was truly a wonderful event and it was a pleasure to meet all the great families of all the fantastic students at La Paloma. Welcome Back!

Welcome to the 2010-2011 school year. I am excited to be a part of La Paloma Academy, working with dedicated teachers. I am here to partner with our families to create a community focused on family values and raising student achievement.

Instruction—We believe in the power of raising critical thinking skills and collaboration. Teachers focus on the academic standards; incorporating learning groups that are centered on balanced literacy. Students are assessed based on nationally-aligned performance objectives (curriculum-based measurements), throughout the year to ensure growth.

Student and parent satisfaction is of utmost importance to me. I believe it is my job to create a caring atmosphere, where you feel supported and accepted. This is more than a school, we are a family and here to partner with you.

In order for us to do our part, we need something from you—we need your child here every day. There are only 180 instructional days, and each one holds something special for your child. Please have your child here on time and do not pick them up early, unless there is an emergency. We value each and every moment we have with your child.

We have many parent involvement activities such as movie nights, bingo nights, Skate Country, etc…, and I look forward to seeing you all there. I will keep you informed of upcoming events or special announcements. Let me know if there’s anything I can do to make this a better learning experience for your child.
